In our geography lesson the girls were each given and orange to act as their globe. They drew the equator and a simplified outline of the seven continents. We then peeled it carefully and flattened it into a map. They learned that some of the land shapes change to fit the map once it's flattened. It was an interesting and fun lesson.

I just LOVE this idea! The best part is that it could work for a wide range of ages. We will be trying this one.
