Day 272 - current bible studies

I've finished book one and two of the discipleship study I was involved in for the past year.  We have book three to complete but are taking a break while for a few weeks (or months)....I'm not sure yet.    For the first time since we've been at Cornerstone I've been able to attend the Women's Wednesday night Bible study.  We're doing the Beth Moore study on Revelation.   During this time Ken is in the Men's study and the girls are in a new children's program they have available.   It goes a little later than the usual bedtime but it's the only way that both Ken and I can be involved.  Also in my repurposed diaper basket (now my Bible study basket) is my other Beth Moore study.  This one I've been doing for about 2 months now on my own.  I felt really led to go through this study for some time now so I'm doing this one online in the morning before the girls get up.  It's SO good and I'm always eager to get started once Ken leaves for work.

Day 125 - discipleship study

I started this study a few months ago and it's made such a difference in my Bible study time.  I meet with two other ladies from church, while Ken and the kids are in Awana.  I feel like a complete 'newbie' in God's Word next to them but I think they are benefiting from it too.  It's really pushing me out of my comfort zone.  Ken always imitates me in a group study.....hiding behind the book,  sneaking out the door,  etc.  He's actually taking the same study with the men's group at church but he has no fear of speaking.  The study is all about strengthening your walk with the Lord through Bible study, scripture memorization and prayer.  It helps build a strong foundation.  What it's really given me so far though is a renewed hunger for God's word.

My mornings start out differently now.  I sit in the big chair by the window and meet with Him before I do anything else.  When the girls come out in the morning they see me there instead of at the computer like before.  When they run up to cuddle and give me morning kisses I have the chance to share what I've been reading or praying about.  It feels better.  I praise God for this change in our morning and in my heart.

Day 56 - facebook

I can't believe it's even taken me this long to mention my addiction.  While it was really fun celebrating my birthday with Ken and the girls yesterday, it was also fun receiving birthday greetings from old friends on facebook.  I loved hearing my email ding throughout the day.  I felt blessed to have grown up with a good group of kids that now, after 20 or 30 years are still so easy to reconnect with.   I have to admit, I'm always a little nervous when I get the message that someone has tagged me in a photo....like the 80's Alpha Phi pictures that Kris posted today.  Yikes!

Reuniting with old friends has been such an exciting,  wonderful and even healing experience.  I waste a little too much time with facebook nowadays but I just figure that  it's my playgroup.
