Water Week in Kindergarten

Water week goes down as another favorite.  The girls really enjoyed and learned so much from the science.  I get so excited when I hear them repeat what they've learned to their dolls or each other throughout the day.  Just yesterday Courtney told me to drink my tea because it was evaporating.  :)
We used diagrams and pictures to learn about the water cycle.  We had several good books which I'll add below.  Courtney and Claire added our family to the water cycle after the lessons.
We discussed water as a liquid and how it changes shape.  We experimented with that and then created a chart which we added to each day.  This photo was taken near the end of the week.
We learned that some things mix (dissolve) with water and some things don't.  She had a fun time experimenting and then sharing her findings with Courtney and Claire.
We also made a mini-book about water and what we had learned.  They each made their own book.  I wont post the photos of each page but if you would like the rest feel free to email me.  :)

Most importantly, we learned about Jesus' living water.  Our insides, our spirit, gets thirsty too.  It isn't thirsty for real water, it is thirsty for Jesus.  He is like water for our spirit.  Jesus will give us what we need to live if we ask him.  Caroline also made badges for her sisters to wear.  They wore them everywhere!
Ken reading to Courtney and Claire.  A few minutes later I took another photo because he had fallen asleep and they were crawling all over him and the book.
Our books this week:
Do Fish Drink? First Questions and Answers About Water by Ball and Trotter
Make Way For Ducklings by Roberts McCloskey
The Story About Ping by Marjorie Flack and Kurt Wiese
The Magic Scholbus Wet All Over by Patricia Reif
This is the Rain by Lola M. Shaefer
