Today was a particularly difficult parenting day. I take discipline issues too personally sometimes and I know I can't do that as a parent. I can't seem to finish a thought about a certain character trait that she needs help learning without realizing it applies to me first. Even though I thought I'd pull my hair out today, I am aware that God has so perfectly placed us together as mother and daughter.

What a beautiful picture of Calista! Parenting, as I have painfully and joyfully discovered, is a continuous learning experience. No matter how sucessful we are, there will always be days when your children will prove us wrong. I agree with you in that God assigns the right children with the parents who can handle them best.
