Day 251 - first day of school

The girls made sure they did not even peek into my room this morning.  They didn't want to see anything until they were both ready and could walk in together.  It was so cute!  When they finally did they were jumping up and down with delight.  They were so excited to have their workboxes and to see the goodies in their drawers.  I had a little pencil box for Courtney and Claire too.  It was so much fun to watch and listen to them.

We started our morning with circle time where we do the pledge, calendar, prayer and our school song.
Our first day of school was wonderful and sad.  As we were about to start, the phone rang and even though I don't usually answer during school, I did.  A friend from my homeschool mom's group had gone to be with the Lord.  It was totally unexpected and just so sad to think of her husband and 9 year old son.

I heard Calista and Caroline sharing all of the details with Daddy later that evening.  They showed him all of their work and took him step by step throughout the day.  It was neat to hear.  :)
