Ken had the day off today so he was able to take the girls to the park in the afternoon. I needed just an hour or two to finish up the preparations for our first day of school. When Calista came home from public school in February I didn't have anything planned so it was really thrown together. Good friends let me borrow curriculum, thankfully, so she kept up her schoolwork.
This year is a totally different story. We have prayerfully selected our curriculum, been blessed with books from friends and made some of our own purchases. I'm so excited about our curriculum and the learning that is in store for the girls (and for me!)
I spent most of today just setting up their workboxes and the plan for tomorrow. They each have a drawer to keep their new supplies (binder, crayons, pencil box etc.) aside from their workboxes. They think they have already seen everything so this will be a big surprise in the morning. I can't wait to see their excitement tomorrow. I know sleep wont come too easily to either of them tonight. :)
These little flowers were handpicked and bow-tied by the girlies. A sweet napkin note that they read aloud to me was enough to bring me to tears. They even set the table with the special red plate, just for me. The funny thing was that it was supposed to be their special back to school dinner.
