full weekends

 Our weekend was full and fun for the girls.  In the morning I took the twins and Caroline to a tea party for their friends' (sisters) birthday.  It was so sweetly set up with adorable tea sets all over.  The girls had their plates filled with jelly beans and drank gallons of tea.

  

 Towards the end of that party we were off to the Ladies Tea at church. It was Calista's first Ladies Tea and she was super excited.  She did so well and it was such a joy to have her there with me.  Ken's mom was in town visiting so she joined us.

 We ended the weekend with Awana Awards Night.  It was a fun evening recognizing the kids and the leaders that make Awana happen.  It's such a great program and we're so grateful for the opportunity to have our girls involved.   It was a little sad for us to have our last little Cubbies graduate.   Courtney and Claire will be Sparks next year with Caroline.   Pretty amazing really.

 After Awana the girls love playing with their friends on the grass.  It's the same thing they do after church on Sunday.  I always laugh with Ken about how many hours I've spent over the years watching the kids play on this grass.  I loved this picture of the girls taking a break from their game of chase.

Day 323 - thanksgiving feast at church

It was a special evening of fellowship, praise and testimonies during our churches Thanksgiving Feast.  I loved that the children were included.  I love hearing their sweet conversation with their friends.  The twins look like such big girls.  Ken did a wonderful job speaking (he's reviewing his notes in the back) and  I'll never forget Caroline standing on a chair singing and swaying to the worship music.  It was a memorable evening and I'm so grateful for our church family.

Day 193-7 our week in vbs

It was an awesome week!   We had about 150 kids and many volunteers.  I was one of the craft people but I mainly did the preschool crafts and then just stayed on to help in there.  We had about 30 preschoolers, including Courtney and Claire.

Calista was excited to have Ms. Charisse as her leader.  She had a blast and didn't want the week to end. 

Caroline's loved her leader, Ms. Mary,  and she was happy to have her good friend in her group.

The temperatures were in the 100s this week.   We had water play on the last day and the kids loved (and needed) that!   The girls adored the music and our youth band did an amazing job.  I was so impressed with them!  They are great examples to our little ones.  Hearing the kids (big and little) sing praise music chokes me up every time.  

Day 184-6 family camp

This was our first family camp and maybe even a first for our church.  We left on Saturday morning to a beautiful location in Lake Tahoe called Zephyr Point.  The girls had never been to Tahoe and it had been a while since Ken and I had.   Ken spent a lot of time there growing up so he was especially excited to take the girls.

We stayed in a lodge with the other families from church and had a great weekend!  The first night we were there we had a wonderful time of worship outside.  The music and the setting were beautiful!  They started with one of our family favorites, Days of Elijah.

I think our favorite time there was the beach day.  The girls had a BLAST and I so enjoyed spending time with friends and getting to know them better.  I don't get that opportunity too often so I really appreciated that.

We had some time of teaching each day which was also really good.  The littler ones did pretty well throughout Bible study time by bringing some crayons and paper. 

We had quite a hike up to a nice vantage point for the fireworks.  I wasn't sure the twins would make it but in the end it turned out to be a fun experience.  It was a great display and a first for the girls.  We walked home on a much easier route.

We hope that Family Camp becomes a tradition with our church.  We enjoyed it so much and look forward to next year.
