The Ministry of Motherhood Book Club

I'm so excited to be participating in The Ministry of Motherhood Summer Book Club at Good Morning Girls.  There is a reading plan for the book by Sally Clarkson and a schedule for the scripture reading as well.  The documents are available for download here.  Last I read there were about 140 Good Morning Girls groups formed.  There is still time to jump in as we haven't started the book yet.  This week we've focused on five different passages using the S.O.A.P method.

S.O.A.P stands for the following:

  • "S" - reading/writing the scripture.
  • "O" - writing down observations about the scripture that was read.  What might He be telling you with this scripture?
  • "A" - how does this passage apply to you right now.
  • "P" - write down a prayer and ask God to help apply this to your life.  Tell Him what is on your heart.
I've had the book for a few years now and have been hoping to read it.  This book club will help me finally do just that.  I'm looking forward to the next 12 weeks of study with the focus on scripture geared to strengthen and grow as a mother.

Thank you for sharing this Isabel. Is there a local group you are part of, or just through their website? Thanks again for sharing your life and ministering to others. Blessings always!!! Lian

I just joined a group through the website. A local group is a great idea. Maybe if a few of us around here are doing this we can have some park play dates for the kids and we can discuss the book and scriptures some. Let me know what you think. :)

Sounds fabulous! I have a friend in our tract that is interested in getting together as well. I think we may try to meet weekly without the kids. We'd love to have you join us! (She has two little boys and homeschools as well.) Not sure what day, but I'll let you know. If that doesn't work for you, the park sounds fun too!
