I was supposed to leave for a long awaited, relaxing weekend in Capitola. Sherri and I made this plan last summer and the time was finally here. I was a little nervous about leaving Ken and the kids but having a weekend with daddy would be great for them. The only other time I was away overnight was in 2006 when the twins were born and I had to stay in the hospital for a few days.
So I had everything ready for Ken (girls' clothes, lists, schedules etc) but in the middle of the night my plans changed. I woke up at 2 am feeling really, really sick. I thought I might be better by morning but it was just worse. I had the flu and there was no getting around it. I couldn't drive that many hours feeling like that nor could I even imagine enjoying the down time in Capitola with Sherri. So I called my dear friend and of course, she was totally sweet and understanding. We'll find another date and maybe it wont even be raining then.

You are just too hard on yourself! When we do get to go it will be sunny and wonderful and not rainy and we will REALLY be able to enjoy ourselves! :) Hope you are feeling better. xo
