Calista wanted a doll party with just a few friends for her 9th birthday. She didn't want games or too much structure. She just wanted time to play dolls with her friends. The girls came with their dolls and some accessories and spent the first half of the party just playing.
I had two crafts planned just in case but they were having so much fun playing and laughing that we barely got to them. A few of the girls made bracelets for themselves and their dolls. Later they frosted mini-cakes for their dolls (or themselves maybe).
Calista opened her presents and was overjoyed (and surprised) to find Felicity. She really wasn't expecting her this year because she knew how much she cost from the catalog. It was so much fun to see her excitement!
Courtney, Claire and Caroline joined the big girls for most of the party except for the doll playing time. The big girls were laughing and joking around so much that I think the little ones weren't sure how to play with them. Oh how sad Claire looked as she watched them play.
It was such an easy party from beginning to end. Most importantly though, it was exactly what the birthday girl had hoped for.
