I took a gazillion of these photos over the past few days. We ended up choosing one and framing it to include in Ken's father's day gift. I knew it wasn't that great but maybe he wouldn't notice. He didn't take it to work the next day so I think he wants a re-take.
Every Father's Day Ken tells the kids that THIS one was his favorite so far. I think he really means it too. As they get older they make a bigger deal about Father's Day and treat him extra special. Calista helped me make meatballs, per his request, and the yellow butter cake with milk chocolate frosting. We were experimenting with a bundt pan for Calista's upcoming birthday so we used it for his cake. He wondered why we made him a tire shaped cake but didn't care once he tasted his favorite cake. We spent the afternoon at Anne's swimming pool and that was a real treat. Caroline was the only one who wore daddy's favorite outfit....the USC shirt. She even asked him if they could go out back and pull weeds together after dinner.
It was a fun and relaxing day for us all.

When did pulling weeds become part of a relaxing day? :) Their picture makes me smile...from my heart!!!
It sounds like Ken and the family had a special day together.
