Day 146 - dollhouse

Courtney and Claire run straight for the dollhouse every day after breakfast.  In the 2 1/2 years that we've lived here this toy has never been neglected.  We've added a matching house and a few more people but I don't think it would have made a difference.  They aren't as interested in doing school with Caroline as they used to be and I'm glad for that.  I do believe that play is school for a 3 year old.  I don't turn them away when they are interested but I never require them to do the Kindergarten lessons.   Their play time, which will lessen each year, is so valuable and so sweet.  

I absolutely adore listening to their conversations as they play.  Lately we've been watching Little House on The Prairie so we hear tidbits from the episodes acted out by their people.  That's Pa in the wagon.
