It was hard to believe that Awana was already coming to an end this year. It was such a great year and the girls truly enjoy it. Ken was a leader this year too so we were even more involved. I used the time for school planning and a bible study but I may join them for Awana next year. Ken was in Sparks with Caroline and she loved that! She had wonderful leaders, as did all of the girls, but she had the bonus of seeing Daddy most of the night.
The Awana ceremony was at the end of fun-filled weekend and I was afraid the twins wouldn't last. Courtney got right up on stage again to receive her award and sing her Cubbies song. Claire was standing next to the leaders and not interested in performing again. Courtney kept trying to call her up to the spot she had saved but she never came. They loved going to Cubbies each week and always talked about their leaders. They have one more year of cubbies and then they will be in Sparks with Caroline.
Calista also adores Awana and does really well with memorizing her verses. She earned a special recognition for that and we were very proud of her.
Awana has always been really important to us. We started Calista when she was 5 years old (as a Cubbie) and we've participated ever since. When we moved here we found our church because of Awana and what a blessing that has been.
