Day 116 - our first garden

It seemed like such an overwhelming task....planting a garden.  I had never grown anything but weeds and had no idea where to start.  The girls had been asking (more like begging) to grow something for years.

We were blessed to have our friend Helen, a horticulturist no less, come over and plant our garden with us.  She was so wonderful with the girls and they soaked up her every word.   She brought everything we needed and made it all seem so easy.

We planted cucumbers, basil, squash, tomatoes, red pepper, strawberries and some daisies.   I think I've remembered everything correctly.

I loved seeing each of the girls take such an interest in planting and not afraid to get their hands dirty.  They loved it and could hardly wait their turn to plant and to water.
I'm so grateful for this experience and touched by the way Helen blessed our family today.

Thanks for following me and I sooo want to borrow Helen to help us as I am a complete brown thumb. Love your music selections btw!
