For the past year I've been taking pictures (one per day) and writing a little blurb about the day. On some days I wrote only a few words and on others, a novel. I kept track of my photos and words on a blog so that once I received my pictures I could remember the words that accompanied them and to which day they belonged. I have all of them in an album which I purchased from Becky Higgins and Creating Keepsakes Magazine.
This year she has come out with another album kit called Project Life and I was over the moon excited to receive it today. I had been following the Fed Ex tracking for days and the girls knew that today was the day. I tried to run out and take a picture of the Fed Ex delivery guy but he left when he heard the girls screaming "It's Here!" It would have been a perfect picture for today.
What I have loved about documenting our journey with a picture a day is that I'm capturing the little things that are so easily forgotten. I always say I'll remember the cute things they say or what their favorite toys are but if I don't write them down then I do forget. It has also helped me to notice things that I do appreciate even when it's a not-so-good day. Well, I've said enough about this already. I'm a huge fan of Project Life and want everyone to do it :) It can be a picture per day, per week or just randomly throughout the year. Give it a try.

Wow! What a great idea! I made a commitment to start journaling again starting on January 1. I have fallen behind here and there, but am keeping up with it overall. I think taking one picture a day is such a wonderful idea! I too often keep my camera tucked away for special occassions when, in reality, the memories are made in the day to day "stuff." I'm going to start trying to get one picture a day. Thank you so much for the idea!! :)
I would love to see some pictures of your finished book, a post--hint, hint:-)!!
This pictures of your girls is priceless!
Great idea. I used to do a lot of journaling but it's been spotty over the last decade. I do love my pictures, my camera is always easily accessible, if not out on the table! My pictures are my journal. But, there's nothing like the writing to go along with them and I'm going to take you up on that challenge. Thank you for reminding me of the importance of journaling the good things that happen every single day.
I have an award for you!
What a great way to remember your year.
Thank you for your encouraging comment about my homeschool reports on my blog. I get tired thinking about typing it all out but I have really loved going back and reading them. It was a hard decision, but I'm going to try a different way of sharing with another type of meme and hope that I can capture some of the same essence without all the work.
I know you will treasure this years from now (and even now too)! I love Becky Higgins. Seems like after starting to homeschool I have lost touch with the scrapbooking world. Thanks for posting and giving others encouragement.
p.s. you'll be sooo much happier in the long run that you got the shot of your girls so excited holding that package instead of the FedEx driver.:-) Things happen for a reason!
Project Life looks very interesting! I like the idea of a month in view or the daily journal, especially with homeschooling and family life. What a treasure! Maybe I could go back in time starting with baby books and do a month in view of favourite pictures and then work through all the other YEARS of pictures and have something to show others with all the digital pics I have. Hmmm . . . thinking! Thanks for sharing about Project Life!
