Calista made Hasty Pudding and it was NOT a hit with everyone. It was a real let down for Claire's snack time treat.
I do love all of the cooking and baking that she is doing with Adventures. This was a recipe for Johnny Cakes, which we thought everyone would like. It didn't quite happen that way unfortunately. I thought they were pretty good but we have some picky eaters around here.
There were a few experiments in science over the past two weeks as well. I'm still thinking we need more in this subject but fortunately she had a great science class in our Co-op last semester which fit well with what were are already doing.
In this experiment she added food coloring to the water and observed how the sugar cubes soaked it up and then dissolved.
For Bible we have added Bob Jones, Bible Truths for 3rd grade. A friend had lent me the books so we decided to use this for additional Bible time. I'm happy with it so far and am actually going to start including Caroline in many of the readings and discussions as well.
For spelling we added Spell to Write and Read which I will devote another post to. I had been wanting to purchase that for some time now and was finally able to do it after Christmas. I am using it with both girls, just at different levels.
I'm not sure if I'm going to continue posting these recaps. I thought I would do it for record and memory keeping purposes....perhaps like a yearbook? but keeping up with the recaps is taking up too much time. Time to rethink :)

I want to say that I love reading your posts, especially because we are behind you all in the lessons. BUT, it is way too tim consuming when you have little ones like we do. You have to do what you can and let the lest go! ;) I want so bad to keep up with posting on the MFW stuff, but life is what it is!
Oh my goodness!!! I just about spit out my coffee when I saw little Claire's face. That look said it all. I'm gonna have to say...that's pretty much how we all felt after tasting the stuff. I'll stick with my good ol' southern grits with cheese in them when I want to eat a corn product that is not in the form of PictSweet's frozen corn, thank you very much. Love your posts!!! Too funny!
Love,g
I love seeing all the fun things you are doing. It gives us something to look forward to with MFW since we are only on the K level now. I know what you mean about time consuming though. I finally started my 365 blog (thanks for the nudge) and that is about all I can keep up with in addition to a few random posts on my normal blog from time to time. You gotta do what works best for you!
Good luck with SRW. I tried it and even went to the seminar. It does lay a solid foundation, just not the right fit for my busy boys! I am sure you will have better luck. :)
