After returning from Houston, it seemed pretty clear to Ken (and to me) that he would have to leave the EDH Volunteer Fire Academy. The training for the next few months would be intense and he couldn't do both.
Today he returned his gear and I think it was the saddest I've seen him since leaving Colorado. I wanted to tell him to go back and tell them he made a mistake; that he wanted to stay after all. In fact, I did tell him to do that.
He didn't go back and he doesn't think he made a mistake. I just wish it wasn't so hard on him.
